Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Hanson sees 2024 as one last chance, I hope he's right and I hope if he is right, we act accordingly.

However sitting up here atop the world it looks to me like, yes we're running on fumes and the chance, as well as the very last gas station, is actually long past. We're well into the fall of civilization and the new dark ages.

Hope y'all have a plan B, and C.

Me, I'm putting the finishing touches on plan G, just in case.

From where I sit, the gloomy weather matches perfectly the gloomy future America faces. I concur that an election will probably do little, if anything to actually improve America's prospects, but one must hope, mustn't one? The biggest issue facing us is the migrant invasion. However, to answer your question "What is to be done?" (sounds familiar, but I can't quit place the source) I suggest the easiest remedy is to enforce current, or enact/enforce more stringent laws against employing those who cannot demonstrate they are here legally. With no work, the migrants will be just as inclined to walk south as they were to walk north, at least some portion of them. As to the rest, they will no doubt continue to congregate where they can sustain life on the public dole, thereby crashing the economies of blue states and cities, assuming the federal apparatus can be wrangled into withholding more deficit spending on welfare benefits. It is to be hoped that our ship of state has not already taken on too much water to continue to float, but the outcome is far from clear. Meanwhile, continue to man the pumps, but be ready to find the nearest lifeboat.
