It is a very good day, indeed, when someone cuts through the thicket of confusion surrounding a hot-button issue and summarizes it in what Hollywood calls a “high concept.” Extracting a high concept means boiling the problem down to a single sentence. The sentence should explain the problem, be easy to grasp and should serve to direct debate.
A few analogies come to mind. "Naqba" is to Palestinians as "slavery" is to American negroes. More broadly, "Palestinians" are to the Middle East as "Negroes" are to America. Blaming others (specifically "da joos" in the case of the palies and "white people" in the case of our negroes) is the magic wand waved to alleviate the burden of striving in order to succeed. All one need do in order to advance is blame someone else (preferably, someone with money) and then proceed to extract concessions, such as "reparations," "returning stolen ancestral lands," "decarcerateion" etc. It's all a con job in either case.
