Donors, those whose generous support fills their endowments, have finally figured out what is going on. In places like Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania, deep-pocketed donors are closing their checkbooks. They are appalled by the failure of the presidents of these schools to denounce those students who blamed Hamas terrorism on Israel.
Some may think this is a minor point but referring to these actions as failures is incorrect. Failure implies that there was some kind of an unsuccessful attempt. This is not failure. It is outright refusal. The moral difference between the two is significant. These people have deliberately come down on the side of evil. Any further statements, regardless of how contrite, would be merely dissembling.
