It's not just the teacher's unions--although they deserve the lion's share of the blame--but also the school boards. I remember years ago when a report was published that blacks had much lower high school graduation rates than whites in a local "major" city. What was the board's reaction? They said they had to discredit this report. They didn't talk about learning why this was happening or how to fix it. That's what our students and their parents are up against.

On the other hand do you want to send your kids to a school where in loco parentis , they tell your Johnny he's a Jennie or your Jennie she's a Johnny and that's their little secret which they won't tell you, their parents?

Yes, do away with the Department of Education but remember the teacher's unions are still the undead and well. Assure your schools provide education, not indoctrination.
