First, if it had appeared anywhere else, it would have been denounced as sexist. New York Times editorialist Michelle Cottle explained this week the difference between male and female bonding. Responding to the simple fact that today’s Americans have few friends and fewer social relations, Cottle raised the salient point-- men connect with men and women connect with women-- differently.
A lutheran minister I listened to on a podcast about 20 years ago made the observation that men and women were different regarding relationships. Men work side by side to get the mission done, women are concerned about relationships, talking, etc. A novel written by a man for men is about a mission and the women are there to help get the mission done. I thought it was a good observation then that has held up in time.
Lgbtqxyz is a high status trait. My bet is that most claiming it are calling themselves bi-sexual or non-binary, incurring no obligation to act on it. A freebie in the victim hierarchy.
