Scouting in Canada has been coed since before 'woke' was a thing. The difference between the USA & Canada is the timing and reason for the change. In Canada parents have a choice between Scouts and Guides for their girls. If they want to learn more 'masculine' skills (Camping, Hiking, Outdoor skills, etc.), they join the Scouts. I think having a coed scouting organization is better for everyone. The USA Scouts should have been coed years ago, like 4H and other organizations.
Getting boys & girls together at an early age, doing various activities would reduce the estrangement.
So, in other words, making boys androgenous at a time when they should be spreading masculine wings after being under mommies control. Not a good idea. What estrangement is that? Like, boys and girls being boys and girls?
You have children? The reverse is closer to reality. Boys outnumber the girls, the activities have not changed. Estrangement as in the article. Perhaps you should read it again.
