Eminent economic historian Niall Ferguson has written an important analysis of America’s current decline. From the onset Ferguson defines power as the ability to make people do something that they would not otherwise do. His conceptual framework puts us in a world where the question is: who is pushing who around. We are not in the realm of the clash of civilizations.

On the other hand our sanctimonious sanctioning of evil Russia; little or no reporting on that vast market we handed China.
China isn't doing very well. The sanctions are destroying Putin. Gasoline is still significantly cheaper in Russia than the U.S. and factories are popping up and flourishing throughout Russia, making everything from, screws to glues using recently imported Chinese machinery.
